Old PC to Minecraft Java server, one clear step at a time, with ZimaOS, Crafty Controller, Fabric, and Playit.gg or port forwarding.
The brief
Self-hosting guides assume you already know the vocabulary. First-timers need to know whether their PC is good enough, which route fits, and what to do when friends cannot join.
How it works
A handbook of linked chapters from hardware checks to troubleshooting, a server builder that asks only relevant questions, and a hardware checker. Commands are copyable, with warnings and checklists where mistakes are costly.
Key decisions
The PC check runs privately in the browser and is deliberately cautious instead of pretending to be a benchmark. Progress and saved plans stay on the device, with no account required. It is an independent community guide and says so.
The result
Live and publicly reachable (checked 18 October 2026), with search by symptom, local progress tracking, dark and light themes, and print styles.
Credits & licences
Independent community guide, not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft, ZimaOS, Crafty Controller, Fabric and Playit.gg belong to their owners.
