Charge a launch, carve across a committed attack, then turn a well-timed boost into heavy contact. First to two spin-outs takes the round.
The brief
Spinning-top battles are over in seconds and easily become random. The game needed timing, positioning and build choices to decide the bout, not luck or hidden stat boosts.
Research
Each pass of the project was written up and tested: arcade polish, clarity, performance and a sixty-frames pass, recorded in the source folder alongside the builds.
How it works
A campaign across three industrial venues, each adding one rule. The Sump teaches launch, contact and counter timing. The Switchyard adds brass traction lanes that recharge boost while moving. The Crucible's cast-iron grip belt sharpens carving but slows coasting.
Key decisions
Rivals use the same legal mechanics as the player; difficulty comes from observed motion, positioning and punish windows rather than stronger bodies or input reading. Six playable tops each favour a different style, and twelve fitted parts are deliberate trade-offs. Quick Bout, practice, same-computer Local Versus and endless Last Call stay separate modes.
The result
Playable in the browser on itch.io: three venues, fourteen main opponents, three optional Iron Contracts, six tops and twelve parts, with persistent scrap, mastery rewards and earned titles. Mac and Windows downloads are an earlier 0.9.0 release candidate.
In practice
Online play is built and tested locally through a separate authoritative server, but it is not connected to the public build yet; the Online menu says so. A Godot version is a separate experiment, not a finished port.
